Rampart Collaborative Environment (RCE)
RGI knows that one key to customer success is decision/information velocity/transparency. In order to provide this need, RGI has established the Rampart Collaborative Environment (RCE), where RGI and its customers can jointly interact and collaborate on deliverables. From collaborative creation of models, documents to re-sourcing engagements, this environment provides a secure means of interacting, storing key project/product files and manage work activities.
Virtual Meetings
RGI is able to coordinate team activities by hosting Virtual Meetings with project teams. Integrated teams are able to interact as necessary to achieve customer scope. Standardized processes and tools are available to our customers and partners for capturing meeting outcomes and performing peer review activities in the form of standard meeting minutes and action items. Further, collaboration groups are formed to enable common access to project files and design/service artifacts.
Virtual Collaboration Room RGI maintains a state of the art Virtual Collaboration Room at its Lisle, Illinois offices. This room maintains a multi-projector system to enable virtual face to face meetings with its customer and supplier base, through Internet Protocol (IP) based video and teleconferencing. The end result? Instant on for our customers and partners, for inclusion into this rich interactive environment, through the removal of traditional proprietary video technology.
Action Items
RGI maintains a real-time action item database for utilization by the project team and monitoring by the customer.
Document Management
RGI maintains a robust on-line repository of documents, with access and security tailored to the customer needs. The "traditional" way of sharing information, through non-secure e-mail, removes the chance that a team member is "forgotten", by enabling real-time 24/7 access to critical project and product electronic documentation. Careful maintenance of access controls are instituted to ensure that only individuals authorized to read, add, edit or maintain the documentation have access privileges to do so. The end result? Information velocity is greatly increased and the energy spent on communication is minimized.
Project Repository
As a customer engagement is established, RGI creates a customer/team accessible project repository to capture baselined engagement management documentation, as well as to capture Contract Deliverables. This repository is structured to encourage team collaboration and to maintain traceability of work artifacts to project scope.
On-Line Management
RGI maintains a program management framework, enabling real-time project statusing and reporting of Cost and Schedule Performance Index (CPI/SPI) project measures, to enable the customer, team and RGI to proactively manage engagement execution.
On-Line Timecards RCE provides a real-time means to capture time keeping data traceable to specific workscope, by resource/resource category to ensure timely, accurate and auditable expenditures.
On-Line Expenses RCE provides a real-time means to capture direct and indirect travel and material expenses, maintaining traceability to work scope or overhead accounts. This enables the customer to gain a real-time understanding of expenditures.
On-Line Earned Value Management RCE provides a means to capture base lined task work authorizations, based on Purchase Order (PO) demand, and to track progress and expenditures relative to these base lined management objects. CPI/SPI is reportable on a weekly and/or monthly basis, based on Customer need.
On-Line Travel Authorizations
RCE provides a means of capturing travel authorizations and enabling approval by appropriate project management resources. This ensures an additional layer of expenditure control for the Customer and RGI.
Integrated Problem Reporting
RCE provides a standardized and integrated means of reporting problems, enabling a consistent and robust means of a variety of issues, as varied as identifying work artifact/model quality defects or requesting helpdesk.
Enterprise Resource Planning (Coming Soon)
RGI is in the process of implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning system, that provides an integrated/real-time understanding of project status, expenditures, invoicing and payments. Key to partnership success is two fold. First is ensuring that the Customer's engineering demand is met, on budget and on schedule. Second, RGI provides a self managed functional team providing a complete functional capability, such as CAD design, logistics engineering, mechanical and/or manufacturing engineering resourcing. This engagement model is well suited where the Customer seeks to complement their core competencies with engineering capabilities they lack.
Reverse Sourcing (Demand Side) RGI is able to establish bi-directional sourcing agreements with its Customers, where RGI resources are utilized in times of high engineering demand, and customer resources are utilized during times of lower customer demand. The result is the transition of fixed cost engineering skill sets into variable cost resources.
